Australia’s three time World Blind Champion Lepeka Nanai upped the tally to four titles at the 2015 Championships in Seoul, Korea. Lepeka competed in the 125+kg. class and came through with 732.5kg. Total, 12.5kg. clear of Ranjbar of Iran and Tim Ekert of Canada. On the way through Lepeka achieved a 255kg. World Record Squat and an excellent 205kg. Bench Press.

Also from Australia, Alex Chu came in 7th in the 90kg. class with 412.5kg. Total.

This inspirational event saw 80 visually impaired athletes take to the platform as one of the 9 sports of the World Blind Games. Powerlifting took centre stage at Seoul Olympic Park, the hallowed site of the 1988 Olympic Games, where Athletics Soccer, Goalball and other sports revived the spirit of that great event.
